Startup Unveils AI That Does Absolutely Nothing; Investors Call It "Our Most Honest Product Yet"
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Tech startup Voidwell Labs on Tuesday unveiled Voidwell Null, an artificial intelligence system that does absolutely nothing, and investors immediately valued the company at $4 billion.
"Every other AI promises to transform your life and then writes a slightly worse email," said Voidwell founder and CEO Tyler Brandvold, 31, wearing a vest. "We're the first company brave enough to skip that step."
Users who type a question into Voidwell Null receive a blank screen, which the company describes as "a moment of reflection." Premium subscribers, at $40 a month, receive the same blank screen "faster."
Early reviews have been glowing. "It's never once hallucinated," said beta tester Priya Sandoval, 27. "It's never been wrong. It's never been anything. I trust it completely."
Venture capitalists praised the product's efficiency. "It uses no data, makes no mistakes, and has never been sued," said investor Corinne Valdez-Strout of Tenuous Capital Partners. "Frankly, it's the best-performing asset in our portfolio."
The company says the product is "fully aligned," having never taken a single action.
At press time, Voidwell had announced Voidwell Null Pro, which does nothing in 40 languages.
